Why Music Makes Our Brain Sing

Why Music Makes Our Brain Sing

Music has been a common thread to anchor me in time for my entire life. My earliest memory of enjoying music and noticing I was enjoying it was laying on my living room floor and staring at the little red light on the stereo cabinet listening to Mitch Miller, Sing along with Mitch when I was 6 or 7. I was in heaven. The first time I heard a real orchestra play live music, it was Respighi’s Pines of Rome. I remember the whole body experience of ecstasy that came with the first swell of the music. I did not want it to ever end. So, get out your music today and dance around your living room or sit on your patio and get taken away by a Brandenburg Concerto. Can you hear it now?
