I am a licensed acupuncturist and nationally certified herbalist in Austin, Texas.
I began my career with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas. Originally, I planned to apply to Western medical school, but my goals shifted when I worked as an AIDS hospice caregiver for two years. In that work, I witnessed many patients who were overwhelmed by numerous prescriptions and their myriad adverse side effects. I resolved to find a therapeutic modality that was compatible with allopathic medicine, but addressed physical and emotional suffering without the use of pharmaceuticals.
In 2004, I earned a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the Academy of Oriental Medicine of Austin. Next, I pursued an internship in gynecology and herbal medicine at the TCM University in Chengdu, China, where I earned an International Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Certificate.
Today, my practice is affiliated with Central Family Practice, an innovative integrative healthcare clinic. I am committed to providing a safe, comfortable place for patients to take a holistic approach to their wellness and personal transformation. All of my treatments incorporate a combination of acupuncture, Asian bodywork, Chinese herbal medicine, and wellness counseling.
